Lyons All School Reunion May 23, 24, and 25, 2008.

Current List of those planning to Attend as of 05/05/08

The first LHS All School Reunion will be held in Lyons on May 23, 24, and 25, 2008.

A variety of events have been planned for the weekend.   You are welcome to participate in all of them, or you can pick the ones that interest you.  Although there will be no charge for several of the events, it is important that you let us know (on the registration form) which ones you will be attending so that we can plan accordingly.

The first thing that you will need to do when you arrive in Lyons is to register at the Celebration Centre, 1145 East Highway 56, Lyons.  That is where you will pick up your weekend schedule and start your trip down memory lane.

For those of you who might not be as “in shape” as you were in high school, you can still participate in the “Blast From the Past” Memories race.  No running shoes required!  You’re going to “take a trip back to the ‘good old days’ by doing some cruisin’ around our old stompin’ grounds in search of sites from our unforgettable past as LHS teens.”  Teams of 4 persons per car will race to rekindle memories and to solve the clues.

And for those of you who prefer visiting to dancing on Saturday evening, a separate room will be available for you to continue catching up with your classmates.

In order to prepare a presentation for the Saturday evening program, we need COPIES of any high school photos, videos, or home movies (parties, sports events, band trips, etc.) that you would be willing to share.  Please send them to Louise Doyle, 22362 Cupertino Road, Cupertino, CA  95014.

Those attending the Open House on Sunday are asked to bring a food item (homemade or prepared).  Those attending from out of town may bring a snack item or make a donation to assist with the cost of paper products and drinks.

Do you have any of the clothes that you wore in high school?  Your prom dress, your letter jacket, your cheerleader outfit?  Any other high school memorabilia that we can display?  If so, please drop it at the registration table at the Celebration Centre on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.  Be sure to label all items.

Have you (a classmate, a spouse, a child, or a grandchild) done something noteworthy that your fellow alumni might find interesting?  If so, please complete the Famous Lion form and submit it with your registration form.

While we are not going to hire a professional photographer, numerous amateurs will be clicking away throughout the weekend.  Following the reunion we will compile the photographs, and for a $5 charge we will send you a CD of weekend happenings.  Be sure to pre-order a copy; if you order at the reunion, the cost will be $7.50.

The weekend dress will be casual except for the main event on Saturday evening, when you will want to wear your party clothes.

Because we have been unable to locate many alumni, we are requesting that everyone “spread the word.”   Call your friends, your siblings, your children (anyone who attended Lyons schools) and let them know that you want to see them at the reunion.

Be sure to register as soon as possible so that you can avoid the late fee that will be assessed after March 15.   Although you will need to complete a separate form (in addition to the registration form) to reserve a room at the Sterling College dormitory, you can write one check for everything.

For questions, call J. L. Herold at (620) 938-9950, Louise (Smith) Doyle at (408) 252-1901, Jane Harris at (785) 841-5707, or Jean (Harris) Gilbert at (505) 522-2529.

We’re looking forward to seeing you in Lyons.
